Here's hoping that the next buyers do!

I heard from my realtor yesterday with some feedback from the first showing. The buyer's agent works with my agent in the same office, so the feedback was plentiful. The agent thinks our house is adorable (hooray!). Her buyer liked the front porch, living room, fireplace, dining room, and breakfast room. But he hated (hated!?!) the kitchen and bathroom. I'm trying to not be emotionally attached to this feedback, but it kind of hurts my feelings, since my husband and I worked so hard on the kitchen just a little over a year ago. My best guess is this buyer wants a more modern kitchen, instead of the post-WWII Youngstown cabinets and Crane Kitchen Queen sink we have. The bathroom, too, is old (heck, the house is almost 70 years old!), but everything works fine. Do I sound defensive or what?

I just got a call that someone else is coming to look from 5-6 p.m. this evening. Good thing we have leftovers from last night, since I won't be able to cook dinner! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this buyer wants an old house that has retained its historical features.

Funny how we can want to get rid of something but not accept someone else complaining about it, isn't it. You can hate your sibling but lose your teeth fighting for them. Ha!
